If The Forest Could Talk … Symposium ( 1 hour ), Oct 1, 2024.  This symposium explores what we can learn from the forest, how its ecosystem functions above and below ground, what it needs for forest advocates, and what it needs to become self-sufficient again. The discussion includes a brief description of the new Forest Resilience Framework for Rock Creek Park. This framework, the first of its kind in the National Park System, is designed to help a struggling forest thrive again. It will be used as a template for other Parks across the United States.  Speakers include Sophia McCrocklin, artist; Brian Joyner, Acting Superintendent of Rock Creek Park, National Park Service; Jeanne Braha, Executive Director of Rock Creek Conservancy; Melanie Chokes-Bradley, naturalist/author; and Executive Director of Sierra Club of MD; Josh Tulkin.
